Since Project Engine is implemented in Java you need to make sure you have a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed. Any Java 2 JRE is adequate for Project Engine but in the case of problems, first try to upgrade the JRE on your system. To download one from www.java.com select the link below:

Download Project Engine ProfessionalProject Engine Professional contains a client and a server application.
Use Project Engine Server to connect multiple clients to form a project team. The server should be installed on a server computer and needs to be accessible from all clients. Project Engine Server installs with a time unlimited license for one user. To purchase a server license go to the Purchase screen and select the desired maximum number of users in the project. Project Engine Client should be installed at the clients and are used for accessing the server. The server can also be reached from a web browser. Client and server can be installed from the Professional setup program. Project Engine Professional comes with everything you need, no additional database or web server is required. Download Repos ServerSimple version control server for Windows. This server installation (Apache and Subversion) is required to take advantage of the version control featues in Project Engine Enterprise.
The server is based on proven software: Apache HTTP Server and Subversion. Like these components, it is distributed under an open source license, the Apache License 2.0. This means that it is free to download and free to use, and that it comes without warranties. The source code is version controlled here. If your organization is reluctant to use open source software, we recommend that you evaluate adoption of Apache and Subversion first, instead of open source in general. Both are examples of open source products used by large companies, which proves that they compete not only on low price.
